Joining the Zoom Public Meeting

There are several methods available for participating in the public meeting using Zoom:

1. The Zoom Application

  • This is the best method for attending and participating in the "virtual" public meeting. In order to have the best "virtual" experience we recommend downloading and installing Zoom on your computer now or some time before the event begins. You can visit the Zoom website for more information and to download Zoom.

  • Or you can download Zoom directly by clicking here (select "Zoom Client for Meetings") or here (direct download link for the latest version of the Zoom Client) and following the instructions provided.

  • Zoom makes frequent updates to address security, bugs, and performance issues. Please make sure you are using the latest version of Zoom.

    • The latest version is shown on the Zoom website next to the "Download" button for the "Zoom Client for Meetings"

    • To determine the version of Zoom you have installed open Zoom and click on your initials in the upper, right corner. Then click Help -> About Zoom.

    • To check for updates open Zoom and click on your initials in the upper, right corner. Then click Check for Updates.

2. Using Zoom in your Browser

  • If you do not wish to install the Zoom application or have problems with the installation you can also attend and participate in the public meeting using Zoom in your internet browser. When you click on the link to join the virtual event (from within the confirmation email you received after registering), a new browser tab or window will open (depending on your browser settings). Near the bottom of that window is a link that states "start from your browser". Simply click that link to access the Zoom meeting in your browser.

3. By Phone

  • If you are unable or do not wish to join using the Zoom application or through your browser, you can call into the meeting using the phone number provided within the confirmation email you received after registering for the event.

Browser and Device Support

This project website and the Zoom virtual events work best with the Chrome browser, however, the sites should work well with most modern desktop and mobile browsers including Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Safari (for Mac users).

Note: The Internet Explorer browser is NOT SUPPORTED.
